Demonoid back on Line to stay apparently

Wanted to wait on this one to make sure that demonoid was actually going to stay on line, but they are back, and badder than ever. While demios might have moved on, the site, data, and users were turned over to the admin staff that previously supported demios running the site.

It is currently closed to new registrations, but with new hosting, a new mission, and extra drive when it comes down to supporting the bittorrent community, demonoid might be harder to take off line this time.

Since a few months ago, Deimos, the site administrator, lacks the necessary time to take care of the website, because of personal matters he’s been needing to attend to. For this reason, he has decided to leave the site staff.

Before leaving, he assigned a new site administrator from among his friends to take care of the site. The old moderator team will continue helping with the site, unchanged. We will try to keep running everything just as it always has been.

The trackers and website seem to be working properly, and should any issues arise, they will be taken care of as soon as possible. The site might be going on and offline over the next days as we work out any problems.

In all this is another process in the way that RIAA/MPAA/IFPI and the “pirate community” keep on with the take downs, put ups for torrent tracking sites. Demonoid closed their doors originally in November of 2007, so it is good to see them coming back on line.

Hopefully they will end up opening up invites again to see what is on the site, and how well the service works.
