Flag Etiquette

Rashidi Mfaume Kawawa, who played a key role in the implementation of the now much maligned Ujamaa villages and served diligently under founding president Mwalimu Julius Nyerere in various portfolios, is dead.  

SHOW LOW - The flag in front of the LDS Downtown Chapel in Show Low was at half mast Wednesday, Dec. 23, in honor of fallen Arizona Department of Public Safety Officer Chris Marano.  

Campus flags will be at half-mast Wednesday to mark the memorial service for U of G undergraduate student Joe Wykes. The bachelor of arts student died in late November. A visitation will be held Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Scotland Funeral Home, 27 Main Street, Elgin. A memorial service will be held at the same location Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.

May the big Dawg rest in peace.  

Gov. Mike Rounds has asked that all flags in the state be flown at half staff Tuesday, from 8 a.m. until sunset, in honor of U.S. Army Sgt. Eduviges "Duvi" Guadalupe Preciado Wolf, who died Oct. 25, when her vehicle was ambushed while on a convoy in Afghanistan.  

Alexander Bryans, Professor Emeritus and former Head of the Department of Pediatrics, passed away on Wednesday, December 2. The flag will be lowered in his honour. Friends will be received at Chalmers...
