The Flying Spaghetti Monster is the deity of a parody religion founded in 2005 by Oregon State University physics graduate Bobby Henderson to protest the decision by the Kansas State Board of Education to require the teaching of intelligent design, or creationism, as an alternative to biological evolution.

In an open letter on his website, Henderson professes belief in a supernatural Creator that resembles spaghetti and meatballs called the Flying Spaghetti Monster, and calls for Pastafarianism to be taught in science classrooms, essentially invoking a reductio ad absurdum argument against the teaching of intelligent design.

Followers of the Flying Spaghetti Monster call themselves Pastafarians, a portmanteau of pasta and Rastafarian.

Do you consider the Flying Spaghetti Monster as God?

I have created this poll to observe how people respond to religious factors. But honestly, beer volcanoes and hooker factories in heaven? McDonald's may as well create a religion that states that Ronald McDonald created Earth and that the founder of McD's is the "great prophet of Big Macs and McFlurries. I thought that having religion was blasphemous before I saw this shit. Now, I believe that religion was created by a bunch of douchebags, drunks, and hypocrites. I cannot believe that athiests like myself are being insulted and made fun of MORE than this retarded cult of people ACTUALLY BELIEVING in this "Flying Spaghetti Monster" blasphemy that is corrupting society and creating a phenomenal setback to scientific process. I hate you Bobby Henderson you bastard.
