1966 Convertible 1964 Hardtopo Coupe 1965 Hardtop Coupe The typical definition of muscle car does not always fit the standards set as an intermediate or pony size car. Such is the case with several makes and models of automobiles produced in the classic and muscle car category. Muscle cars can be engineered by mechanics to perform as they desire. There were several models of the big name car manufacturers that fit this category. Ford produced such a car that has been overlooked by many as a contender in the muscle car bracket. The Ford Galaxie 500 and 500XL grew from their birth in the ... Read Full Story

The Ford Galaxie was sold from 1959 until 1974. It was Ford's answer to the Chevy Impala, and it just seemed to get bigger and bigger as the years went by. By the end of the 1960's, Ford had added enough performance enhancements to make the Galaxie a psuedo-muscle car despite its large size. Ford Galaxies weren't terribly popular with collectors in the decades after the final one was made, but in recent years there has been an increased interest in this car. The Impala may have become a staple in the hip-hop community, but the Galaxie now has its crowd as well. The ... Read Full Story

1964 Ford Galaxie = Gorgeous 1965 Ford Galaxie = Ugly I remember seeing a 1964 XL 4-door hardtop with the buckets/console package when that was a fairly new car. Black with red interior and boy was it sharp back in the day! Had an uncle who was a sheriff's deputy. One of the cars assigned tio him was a 1964 Ford Custom with 3 on the tree and a 289. Cheap thrills...LOL! An A+ find Murilee :-) :-) :-) #fordgalaxie 1991Brougham
