The FIA has unveiled the provisional calendar for the 2009 season, confirming the arrival of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and the absence of a race in the United States.
The season will begin again in Australia in late March and will finish in Abu Dhabi in November. The calendar will have 19 races, one more than this year.

Was it just me, or as Lewis Hamilton realised he was going to crash into either Robert Kubica or Kimi Raikonnen - who were both politely waiting for a red light at the end of the pit lane at the Canadian grand-prix in Montreal this weekend - did Hamilton make the very shrewd move of steering very obviously left and careering into what he envisaged was his closest championship rival, as opposed to Kubica, who would have been far easier to steer into, given that he was straight in front of...

Auto racing: This is something that we have all read about for the past few years. The great one from Spain (Fernando Alonso), the one that beat out the German perfection (Michael Schumacher) for the driver's title two years in a row, was supposedly a Ferrari driver for the past season. This obviously was not the case, as Fernando Alonso was driving for McLaren-Mercedes, and Kimi Rikknen was the number one man at Ferrari.
