Jerez tests in numbers

By theformula1blog on  From theformula1.com
Following the first Formula1 official testing and considering how much the cars were running on that circuit we thought that it would be fun to put everything on paper and see what the teams and drivers did in those 4 days of tests.   This first days times are completely irrelevant because the teams were more preoccupied to see how all the system’s are working and also what are the best set-ups for different scenarios. The times could not be considered as a valid reference because most of...Read Full Story

Mark Webber not worried about loosing Red Bull seat

By theformula1blog on  From theformula1.com
2011 was a season less than stellar for the 36yo Australian who only got one victory in than last race of the season and this one was mainly because of the gremlins from Vettel gearbox.   Even that Mark Webber never said when he want’s to retire from F1 this could be very well out of he’s hands (similar with Rubens) if we consider that both Toro Rosso pilots Jean-Eric Vergne and Daniel Ricciardo have their eyes fixed on a Red Bull driving seat.   The two young drivers have expressed...Read Full Story

By girlslikef1too on  From girlslikef1too.com

Although being in a 2011 spec car, Rosberg was nearly a second quicker in the W02 above the 2012 spec cars. Romain Grosjean topped the times with his E20 for the 2012 specs with a great time of 1:18.416. Testing this year in Jerez seems to be bring bad luck in pairs. For the first two days, two red flags were brought each day. Day three was no...Read Full Story

Circuito de Jerez: Testing Day Two

By girlslikef1too on  From girlslikef1too.com
Yesterday we saw Kimi Raikkonen take top spot on the testing times after a three year sabbatical, today Michael Schumacher in his Mercedes took fastest lap. With a 1:18.561, Schumacher was able to hold off Mark Webber in the Red Bull. It would seem impressive that Schumacher's W02 was nearly a second quicker that Webber's RB8 but the W02 is the 2011 model. To look at the testing times from Jerez today, Mark Webber held the quickest time in the 2012 cars. Day two and again there were...Read Full Story

Circuito de Jerez: Testing Day One

By girlslikef1too on  From girlslikef1too.com
After taking three years away from Formula One, Kimi Raikkonen returned to the track today and proved to many that he still has what it takes to compete. With only 74 laps run over day one at testing in Jerez, Raikkonen was able to hold fastest speed at 1:19:670 (set in the morning session). Over the course of day on testing the only other team and driver to break the 1:20 lap time barrier was Paul di Resta in his VJM05.
