Last night Carl Pavano was scheduled to make the start against the New York Yankees. When the game got rained out, I assumed they would push the entire rotation back a day and Pavano would pitch tonight instead, setting up Francisco Liriano to pitch the home opener against the Oakland Athletics.

In April Francisco Liriano was practically untouchable. He was the AL pitcher of the month, and he was the only starting pitcher in the American league to have an ERA under 1.
In his first start in May he was a little more human, but he still had a quality start, only giving up 3 runs and earning the win.
