(courtesy of Nars)Francois Nars has announced that he's extending his much-sought-out eponymous cosmetics collection to include a skincare line called NarsSkin.
NarsSkin will include nine products and will launch exclusive at Saks Fifth Avenue on August 1st. The line will launch in 200 other department and specialty stores in September.
From left to right: Gentle Cream Cleanser, $29. Optimal Brightening Concentrate, $72. Double Refining Exfoliator, $34. Total Replenishing Eye Cream, $55.
Nars told WWD he wanted his new line to be simple, with a light-reflecting complex as the key ingredient in all nine products.
“Simplicity was also very important to me, getting to the root of the products and their function as reflected in their names—I don’t like it when beauty becomes too complicated," Nars said. "Light is a key element to the entire line because it plays a huge role in how healthy skin can look. Skin care should reflect the light and makeup should catch it.”
From left to right: Aqua Gel Luminous Mask, $39. Aqua Gel Luminous Oil-Free Moisterizer, $58.
"The new skin-care line, in a very simple way, helps to achieve better skin," Nars said. "We also improved the packaging. It almost looks like a white pearl. It really gives the idea of transparency and fragility of the skin.”
The new collection has everything from a gentle cream cleanser for $29, to an optimal brightening concentrate for $79, which is the most expensive item in the line.
From left to right: Multi-Action Hydrating Toner, $32. Luminous Moisture Cream, $62. Purifying Foam Cleanser, $29.
The only thing we're left wondering is: why didn't he do this sooner?
