The Pittsburgh Pirates and second baseman Freddy Sanchez have come to an agreement on a two-year, $11 million deal with a club option for 2011 that could bring the total to $18.4 million. The two-time All Star hit for a .304 average with 11 longballs and 81 RBIs over 147 games last season before undergoing shoulder surgery during the final week. Former All-Star 2B Freddy Sanchez signs 2 year, 12M extension with the Giants I figured there was some level of interest here from a comparison standpoint. Sanchez hits for more power, and his defense at 2B appears to be pretty above average in comparison to Aki's plain'ol average, while Aki gets on base more.
