Superfunky Asymmetrical Twist-Knot

All the models for the New Guarde Group's fashion show at the Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival 2008 were sporting an edgy new fall style: the asymmetrical twist-knot.
The Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival showcases Australia's biggest designers.  The New Guarde group consists of Australia's freshest, most promising designers--the kids who will be setting trends over the next couple of years.

The look, which touches on the volume and gloss of many popular 1950's hairstyles, involves pulling some hair up into a twisty knot on one side of the head in a mock bun, and twisting other pieces of hair into messy buns further back on the head.

This isn't a look for everyone, but for those searching for a truly cutting edge style, this will definitely set you apart from the pack.  As you can tell from the photos, there is no one way to pull off the style: experiment!
