There is a video that has been doing the rounds on Youtube and the like, depicting the ordeal of one Nicholas White. It began at around eleven o’clock on a Friday night in October 1999 when White left his office for a smoke break. He took the lift from his office on the the forty-third floor to street level. When he returned the lift got stuck and White ended up being stranded for a staggering forty one hours.
