Defenseless Banana Attacked in Angry Tennis Star's New Book
I love men's tennis and I love bananas, especially when mushed up and cooked in banana bread (there's my justification for this post):
Raging tennis star Andy Murray has published his aptly titled autobiography Hitting Back at the tender age of 21. According to the The Guardian, the British #1 criticises his fellow Brit players saying there is "something wrong with their mentality and work ethic". He adds, "There doesn't seem to be anyone who's brutally honest about it either. I think the best way is to confront it, especially when it has been bad for so long." Well, well! Understandably, these statements are causing quite a raucous in the tennis world which is par for the course with the stroppy lad.
But the tongue lashing doesn't end there. Inexplicably, he takes out his frustrations on an innocent fruit. The nourishment of choice between games for many of the sport's top players, the banana was forced to withstand a thorough bollocking when Murray implied they are 'slow': "Players sit there and eat them at changeovers, but it can't be to give them energy because they take ages to digest."
It gets worse. He deals the final blow with his admission, "To be honest, I think bananas are a pathetic fruit." And there I thought he'd name Tim Henman as a much more convincing example.
