The Mexican soccer federation and Liga MX management have approved the move of the Jaguares de Chiapas club to the central city of Queretaro.
The idea originated with the owners of Queretaro’s existing Liga MX team, which was relegated at the end of the just-completed season.
The Queretaro ownership group, led by businessman Amando Yañez, said Tuesday that the man hired last month to manage the now-relegated squad, Ignacio Ambriz, will stay on as coach of the transplanted Jaguares.

America beat Monterrey 2-1 after tying them 2-2 in the first match of a two-game series, thus qualifying for the final in the Mexican Clausura soccer tournament.
America will next go up later this week against the winner of the Cruz Azul-Santos two-game semifinals match-up, the second contest of which is to be played on Sunday.
In the first game, Cruz Azul smashed Santos 3-0 in an away match in the Torreon stadium and thus has the wind at their backs for the second confrontation.
