An Excellent GPS device. This Nuvi does several things very well, and I've yet to discover any serious shortcomings. My thoughts: Navigation: Excellent, as is typical with Garmin units. With the stock antenna it took a long time to aquire the GPS Sats. Also in bad weather (rain & clouds) many times it would not receive the signal at all. I purchased this antenna and mounted it on the roof. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. I never loose the GPS signal. I recently made a trip from NJ to Idaho. It performed flawlessly all the way. I’ve heard California law will soon be changed so that we can mount our GPS devices to the windshield. I’d like to say that I think the Nav-Mat is better than the windshield. For some reason, I feel like my vision is more obstructed when I mount the GPS on the windshield. True, I have only had this item for a little over a week, but am finding it to be very easy to learn and use. The only “down” side is that much of the time it initially takes what seems to be lengthy time (2-3 minutes) to find the satellites. Once it has locked on to the satellites it works very quickly.
