Review of GARMIN 010-00516-30 GPSmap 430S Marine GPS Receiver

We installed this unit on our boat and got it working immediately, no problems whatsoever. We bought it for all the inland lakes in Michigan and it has details on all the ones that we boat on. However, we are going to have to pay an additional $130 for Lake St. Clair! Granted it is not an inland lake. The included lake maps do provide useful outlines of the lakes. The depth sonar and gps both work well on the lakes and we have had no problems. However and but... Here are the reasons why I... Read Full Story

Review of GARMIN 010-00361-00 Foretrex 201 GPS Receiver

The Foretrex 201 is a general purpose version of the Forerunner personal training device. It lacks the personal training features (and PC software) of the Forerunner and replaces them with a general purpose GPS feature set derived from Garmins successful “Geko” models. Note that Garmin describes the Foretrex as being similar to a Geko 201, but the Foretrex is missing a few features (no games) and the user interface is substantially different in a few areas.
