Global Positioning System receivers can determine your position on the surface of the Earth. You can then use this data to do some pretty cool things.
Tracks of a journey can automatically be recorded into the GPS receiver and downloaded as an electronic "drawing".
I find the placement of the GPS device highly unimaginative. For $1200, i expect new and exciting solutions. The designer of this piece is a lazy slacker who couldn't even be bothered to make the GPS device the same color as the garment. #gpslingerie Bluecold:Of volcanic temperament but soothed by a custard pie balsam.

The technology, proper, isn't very cumbersome either -- one can get a GPS chip small enough to uplink into a laptop computer or even to tie to a dog.
