Mike Maples commented on Mike Maples's photo 'Uncle Garfield at Elkmont (Stringtown)' Debbie, we did have an actual place called, "Stringtown" and it was further up Elkmont near Lynn Camp. Thanks for the kind words....I find the cows in this photo interesting too.

A man was fatally shot this afternoon in the East Garfield Park neighborhood, police said.
The unidentified victim was shot at about 3:43 p.m. in the 3300 block of West Huron St., police spokesman Veejay Zala said.
The man was pronounced dead at 6:20 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. He was believed to be in his 30s or 40s. An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday.
Zala had no details on what led to the shooting, but...
