It seems that Tobey Maguire might be seeing a familiar face on the set of his next Peter Parker adventure. According to Variety, Gary Ross has been tapped to rewrite “ Spider-Man 4 “. Ross directed Maguire in both Pleasantville and Best Picture nominee Seabiscuit. Ross is rewriting the script that James Vanderbilt originally wrote and David Lindsay-Abaire rewrote, for Sam Raimi to direct. It was said that the sequel would go into production early next year. Heat Vision is reporting that Gary Ross will write the script for Venom , Columbia Pictures' "Spider-Man" spin-off, and may direct as well! Ross is already writing Spider-Man 4 for the studio. The site says that the studio had no comment on Ross writing the project and whether Topher Grace would reprise the role from the third film. Avi Arad and Marvel are producing the movie.
