Congress met with the heads of five major oil companies to get some answers to some simple questions. Most importantly: Why should your companies get so many tax breaks and make so much money ($123 billion last year to be exact) while the consumers are the ones paying for it, literally. The executives told the house committee that, yes, it sucks to pay so much for gas but their profits were in keeping with other industries.
