Lets protest the price of gas but wasting gas!

Does this idea work on paper? It sure doesnt sound reasonable when I see it on TV, nor hear people talk about it. I am at a loss here, yet again, so in order to protest the price of gas and the fact that it is making it harder for these people to do their job, they waste gas and drive to DC and circle the city? If we want to protest against communism in Cuba would we all travel to Cuba and spend money there? If we want to boycott China and their human rights violations should we buy chinese products? Where is the disconnect here? What is the thought process, gas = expensive, lets drive around and burn gas, then well make a point? Many of these protesters where form the great state of Pennsylvania, the same state that just gave Hillary a big W, or a little W, but a W still. The same individuals whom Obama says are into guns and God, the individuals whose state has been described as Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Alabama, need I say more. Just a question for all my friends in Pennsylvania if gas is expensive, why waste it?
