Gavin Rossdale looks the spitting image of Batman villain in a guest appearance on US TV show.

Who is that joker? Gavin Rossdale looks the spitting image of Batman villain in a guest appearance on US TV show.

The Brit singer, married to No Doubt beauty Gwen Stefani, played a disillusioned Goth in the latest episode of crime drama Criminal Minds.

Rossdale’s character Dante is a best-selling musician, but ends up being hunted by police when groupies start turning up dead with the name of his new album cut into their arms.

“I must admit, I enjoyed the eyeliner,” Rossdale said of the appearance.

“I didn’t enjoy getting it put on – that’s crazy. But it’s not a bad look.”

Although Rossdale has appeared before in five movies, including Constantine and Little Black Book, he was not sure how the episode will turn out.

“I just hope I’m not a jerk,” he said.

“But you got to go for it. You can’t be half-assed about it. You got to dive in. So I dove in.”

As well as flexing his acting chops, Rossdale got to show off a little of his musical skills in the episode.

The installment begins with the former Bush frontman playing Love Will Tear Us Apart by British band Joy Division.
