G. Roger Denson’s novel Voice of Force was named the 2009 best gay novel by The Modern Classic Reader Society, which also named the twenty best gay novels ever written.  The society, which will soon name other categories of best novels, is making a point of considering self-published novels not only because it believes it is the direction in which the publishing industry is headed, but because so many of history's ground-breaking novels have been initially self published. Here is the story synopsis from the back cover of Voice of Force along with the synopses of the twenty classic novels it joins.   To see the actual ... On Amazon.com I found an exciting new novel.  G. Roger Denson's VOICE OF FORCE.  In essence it asks the simple questions: Has increased awareness of sexuality and difference truly helped us live more harmonious lives?  Or has it merely compelled people to mask the prejudice they inherit from traditions and institutions beneath a civilized veneer?  Increasing tolerance may have softened the fault lines of social prejudice, but Denson suggests that when a public tragedy draws out the voices of discontent, we learn just how deeply homophobia still shapes and enforces everyday life in even the most liberal of enclaves. On Friday, April 17, Northern Kentucky University’s alliance called Common Ground hosted a charity drag show benefiting the Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network. The show featured performers from local troupes such as Le Bitchz James Bondage from the Black Mondays. Greek life was involved with the show, and fraternities and sororities on campus competed for half of the proceeds to be donated to a charity of their choice. Participating organizations were Alpha Tau Omega, Delta Zeta and Delta Gamma with Phi Sigma Sigma taking home the prize. Half of the money raised went to GLSEN while the other went to the Phi Sigma Sigma ... Read Full Story

The Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network held its annual prom over the weekend at the Contemporary Arts Center. Adults, those 21+, took the top floor with a live band, delicious food and cash bar. The kids were relegated to the downstairs where it looked like a typical prom, with a DJ and mocktails served by volunteers. The decorations were beautiful and it seemed that everyone had a great time. The best thing about GLSEN Prom is that it allows queers of all ages to wear whatever they want and bring whomever they want to the big dance without fear of repercussions from fellow students, ... We want to thank professional anti-gay activist Peter LaBarbera for bringing to our attention a speech that GLSEN founder (and Department of Education appointee) Kevin Jennings made back during the Clinton years. For while Pete surely intends for the Jennings' speech to serve as a glaring example of the HOMOSEXUAL AGENDA™ at play, what we think you will glean in Kevin's words is the heartfelt wish of a reasoned and reasonable man who is driven to nip in the bud the very idea that reality and its acknowledgment could ever even be an "agenda." Enjoy: ( Ed. note : This is Pete's transcript, so ... Read Full Story
