Most warts have a pearly but slightly dark look (light grayish in color), and the shapes resemble cauliflower when they are in clusters. Usually, genital warts stand well off the skin, but occasionally they may be elevated only a little bit. You may feel them as only a grainy substance at first, on your skin. It may be hard to see warts in the genital area because they might be hiding under pubic hair.

Genital warts with men can occur at any age, though most male patients with genital warts are between the ages of 17-33 years, when they are sexually active. Genital warts are highly contagious. There is a 60% risk of getting the infection from just one sexual contact with someone who already has genital warts.
