Here's What Pippa Middleton Bought Prince George for His Christening Gift

Pacific Coast NewsPrince George is now the proud owner of silver sculptures of his own tiny hands and feet, courtesy of Aunt Pippa. Kate Middleton's sister reportedly had the three-month-old's tiny features cast as a christening present for the little tyke.

The silver sculptures reportedly set Pippa back about $11,000. According to Wrightson and Platt, the company that creates the casts, the price depends on the material and size of the child. The molds can be turned into colored glass, lead crystal, bronze, or silver. Silver is the traditional christening metal, so she went that route.

Now how does one go about making silver replicas of baby hands and feet? Well, it takes 30 seconds to make the mold by placing the tot's feet in a jelly-like mixture of water and a seaweed-based powder, which is no easy feat when you've got a wiggly baby to hold still. Prince George was very well behaved throughout his whole christening ceremony last week, so he probably did just fine.
