George Huguely has been sued by American International Group, Inc. (AIG) for refusing to answer insurance investigators’ questions regarding the death of Yeardley Love, his ex-girlfriend.
In a court filing on Monday, AIG says Huguely declined requests for questioning under oath.
The company wants to be released from having to defend Huguely or paying damages in a wrongful-death lawsuit filed by the family of the slain University of Virginia lacrosse player.

Yeardley Love's killer, her ex-boyfriend George Huguely, has been sentenced to 23 years in prison. The former University of Virginia lacrosse player was sentenced Thursday in Virgina, reports People.com. The case of George Huguely, a former UVa. lacrosse player convicted of killing his ex-girlfriend, will be heard by the state’s Court of Appeals.
Huguely is currently serving a 23-year sentence for the murder of Yeardley Love, a suburban Baltimore woman who was also a lacrosse player at the University of Virginia.
This week’s decision by a single judge can be challenged by either party in the case.
Huguely was convicted of second-degree murder in Love’s death back in May 2010.
