Growing up in Kentucky, being surrounded by country music, I probably knew who George Strait was,before I knew how to write my full name,and that’s saying something. I’ve always thought, however,that George never got the recognition he deserved. He plays country music the way it was intended, pure, raw, real. New country is okay, and has it’s place, I’m sure, but George Strait is definitely among the unsung (pardon the pun) heroes of country music.
