A 4-year-old dog’s owners have written to the Guinness World Records asking if their pet has become the biggest in the world.

During a ceremony Thursday, the Guinness Book of World Records officially proclaimed that a 4-year-old Great Dane named Titan from San Diego is the world's tallest dog. Owner Diana Taylor said Titan is blind, deaf, epilectic and undergoes acupuncture and chiropractic adjustments every three weeks. He is also a gentle soul who knows no strangers at the beach and is often mistaken by young children as a horse or cow.  

Nov. 12 was the official Guinness World Record Day and of the 30 records named, only one animal was honored and he hails from San Diego: Titan, a four-year-old Great Dane was certified as the world's tallest dog. Titan, who is owned by Diana Taylor, has an official height, as measured by a veterinarian, of just over 3½ feet tall from floor to shoulder.
