SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- The Assoicated Press reports Guinness World Records officially named Titan, an ailing 4-year-old white Great Dane from San Diego, as the world's tallest dog.

Among the tallest dog breeds are Irish Wolfhounds and Great Danes. On Thursday, however, the Guiness Book of World Records officially named Titan the Great Dane the World's Tallest Dog. He received the honor at an official ceremony.

Guiness Book Record Breakers Boomer from North Dakota is now the world's biggest dog.Boomer, a 180-pound Landseer Newfoundland dog, stands with owner Caryn Weber at her home south of Casselton, N.D.
