GILLIAN ANDERSON is to appear in the next series of Doctor Who as a deadly enemy of new Time Lord Matt Smith, it is being claimed. The actress, who played special agent Dana Scully in hit show The X-Files, is reportedly being lined up to play The Rani, a renegade Time Lady. David Duchovny seems to be getting a little sentimental on this movie but he still manages to include a reference to porn in the interview and say Gillian Anderson is a good kisser. Typical David!! David on kissing Gillian Anderson: "Is Gillian a good kisser? Yes she is. And we've kissed before over the years. It's been many years of kissing and it's not been a chore at all, at least not for Mulder. I guess you should ask Scully!" I have of late been finding great pleasure in the BBC series "Bleak House." (OK, that sentence sounded totally Victorian, didn't it? Obviously this show is having an effect on me. But the Victorians didn't have DVDs, unfortunately for them.) I didn't catch it when it played on TV a few years ago, but heard so many rave reviews from friends I knew I had to watch it someday. Based on one of the Charles Dickens novels that I never got around to...

It's rare that I look at a TV project and wish that it were a $100m theatrical production instead of a much smaller television affair. But I do wish the $25m television version of Moby Dick, currently shooting, had more cash to work with. Oceangoing stories look amazing on the big screen, and we get so few of...

The film version of the 1990s TV phenomenon sees Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny chasing aliens, deadly viruses and killer bees to prove the truth really is still "out there", in an effective blend of science fiction and paranoid conspiracy thriller.
