A Celebration of The X-Files in Beverly Hills

Interesting timing on this one… Not three hours after we broke news that X-Files 3 may well become a possibility, FilmShaft were notified of an X-Files themed charity event, taking place next month.Once again our lucky American readers will get an opportunity that the UK is rarely afforded – so here’s hoping that a similar event rears it’s head on our side of the pond to satiate the appetites of the British X-Philes! Whether you were a fan of the mythology episodes or the monsters of the week, there is no denying that The X-Files made audiences ponder, gasp, laugh and hide their eyes—occasionally all at the same time. If you’ve ever wondered if Scully was immortal, if Skinner was still infected with nano-technology, or if Mulder and Scully will be fighting the coming 2012 invasion, November 14th is your day to ask those questions and many others.

Actress Gillian Anderson (Dana Scully, herself), actor Mitch Pileggi (Walter Skinner) and executive producer/writer Frank Spotnitz hit the Beverly Wilshire hotel on November 14th, 2009 at 2:00pm to reminisce and answer those burning questions (eg all those rumors about X-Files 3 and the 2012 mythology).

Proceeds from this amazing event will be donated in support of the participants’ chosen charities, including The Santa Monica-UCLA Rape Treatment Center, Off the Street Kids, Fezeka and Children of the Night.

A limited number of VIP tickets (which include an autograph session) and general seating tickets are available at IBG.org. Some lucky fans will get a chance for extended “Meet and Greets” with the panelists prior to the event. “Meet and Greet” chances are being auctioned off on eBay throughout the October (packages to meet Gillian, Mitch and Frank are currently available at IBG.org).

The event is being hosted by IBG Inc. Founded in late 2008, host organization IBG established an official non-profit campaign focusing on utilizing the power of philanthropy through the arts to benefit a wide range of charities worldwide. IBG acts as a “fundraiser facilitator” for underfunded and start-up charities that would otherwise struggle with the logistics and costs associated with event fundraising.
