China mobile Samsung D988 or D980 DuoS to us

Do you remember when Samsung canceled the P720, this was their first attempted at making a dual SIM card phone with full touchscreen and it was not very successful.

Now we are hearing of a new phone called the Samsung D988 that’s on China Mobile, this comes after Samsung improved touch capabilities and will have another crack at dual SIM features.

They have taken the Samsung F480 (Armani successor), redesigned it and added dual SIM functionality. The China version of D988 will be known to the rest of the world by the model D980 DuoS.

The Samsung D980/D988 dual SIM handset will feature Bluetooth 2.0 and USB, microSD memory card slot, a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, 2′6″ 240×320px QVGA 262K color display, Dual SIM GSM card slots and GSM Triband (900/1800/1900MHz), GPRS/EDGE connectivity.

We have no word on prices or when the D980 DuoS version will be coming to Europe or the United States but it should be soon.
