Goddess Durga on Tatiana the Tiger

Someone said that San-Francisco Zoo perpetrators were trying to ride the Tatiana Tiger in order to honor Goddess Durga... Who is Goddess Durga, anyway? Durga is a Hindu goddess that rides a tiger to kill her children enemies. Kali's Trinity consisted of Parvati (Maya the Virgin), Durga (The Mother Queen), Uma (Prisni the Crone). Durga rode tigers into battle and fought demons, protecting gods - her children. Like the other warrior goddess - Ma-Belonna from the Middle East, Durga drank the blood of her enemies. So to satisfy her Amazon's type blood-lust warshippers fed (annointed) her altars and images with the blood of captured enemies.

Sometimes Durga is called "The Shakti" (the Sixth) because she was invoked at the sixth day of a childbirth, with the seventh day as a day of rest. The same 6-day pattern was followed by other gods: Ahuramazda, Ptah, Marduk (Babylon), Baal from Syria, and Jewish Yahwe. Durga's personality possibly influenced the worshipping of Rome's Great Mother Juno...

Durga is considered the greatest of all Hindu gods. This Goddess Secret is that she has the power of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. Hindu celebrate Durga Festival - Durga Puja twice a year, nine days in the summer, nine days in September, October. For the puja celebration Hindu make images (idols) of Durga Ma to decorate their pandals (festival tents).

Now, when someone mentions that the incident involving Durga worshipping may be wrong, since the season for the worshipping does not fall on Christians' Christmas Eve celebration.

The men were trying to put the garland on a 13-year old male Royal Bengal tiger named “Shiva” (the Hindu god of destruction). When Raj threw the garland around Shiva’s neck, the tiger attacked him. His friend Tiwari intervened, kicking the tiger in the face. The tiger released Raj, and attacked and killed Tiwari. ... The two were devotees of the goddess Durga and had gone to “worship” the tiger ... ]

I was looking for some information on Indian Tiger Gods because of a strange dream I had. I'm not Indian, or a follower of alternative religions, but I do like to try to analyze my dreams. Now I can account for this dream being sprung from my own fears, but the Indian goddesses and tigers are foreign to me.  In my own rationale, this is just a dream reflecting on a jumble of personal emotions, fears, and images I have read. However, your article on Durga was most informative, and maybe I saw a picture of Indian art in the art museum book I was reading.
