Earlier this month, we talked about an almost inevitable trade with Monta Ellis and the Golden State Warriors . With seemingly nothing going right in the bay this season, it looked as if the relationship between Ellis and the Warriors front office was deteriorating quickly. At this point, it appears that it’s not if, but rather when, Monta Ellis will be traded from the Warriors. With his agent, Jeff Fried, scheduled to meet with team management in Oakland tomorrow , apparently at Don Nelson ’s urging, Golden State has been calling teams and offering to trade Ellis all week. We all know the stories. So you thought that after the Golden State Warriors were able to unload a member of the “ NBA TOP TEN PUD LIST ” forward Stephen Jackson to the Charlotte Bobcats every thing was going to be all “ Nicey-Nice ” and calm for the rest of the season, right? Vince Carter scored 21 points and the Orlando Magic remained unbeaten in the preseason with a 117-87 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night. The Magic (7-0) play Atlanta on Friday night, hoping to finish off the first undefeated exhibition season in franchise history. Marcin Gortat added 15 points and Brandon Bass had 14 for the Magic. Roy Hibbert scored 14 of his 20 points in the first half for Indiana. Troy Murphy added 15 rebounds for the Pacers, who were without T.J. Monta Ellis Now that Stephen Jackson is gone, Monta Ellis is the last defensive presence on the Warriors. Well, according to Monta Ellis anyway. In an interview today with Marcus Thompson II of the Contra Costa Times , Ellis not only said that nobody on the Warriors besides him can play D, but he also said he doesn’t plan on taking on more responsibility or being more vocal now that Jackson is gone.
