Gordon Ramsay Gets Chin Surgery on the Advice of Simon Cowell

(Getty Images)more pics »Celebrity chef and Hell's Kitchen host Gordon Ramsay decided to get cosmetic surgery on his chin, as per the advice from his fellow Brit Simon Cowell, as a way of celebrating his success in the United States.

In an interview with the British weekly Radio Times, Ramsay says he paid around $650 for Restylane injection into his chin. "Simon Cowell suggested that, now I'm a success in America, I should do something. So I had a filler put under the deep crevices," the hot-tempered hash slinger said. "It hurt." It wasn't just Cowell who prompted Ramsay to get the injections. "My mother said they were smile lines," Ramsay tells Radio Times. "I could deal with that at 21, but not at 42."

It's not a one time thing. Most plastic surgeons recommend following up Restylane injections at least twice a year in order to keep his chin looking smooth.

Of course, all of this comes as a bit of a surprise. As the New York Post points out, Ramsay scoffed at plastic surgery via his publicist one year ago. "Gordon would be the first person to take the piss out of anyone that has had surgery," his rep said at the time.
