Why Damon Albarn & Jamie Hewlett are awesome...

Damon Albarn: ex-Blur singer, mastermind of Gorillaz, co-creator of Monkey: Journey to the West, Hot Man Jones
Jamie Hewlett: English comic book artist and designer, co-creator of the comic strip Tank Girl, co-creator of the band Gorillaz, co-creator of Monkey.

Now, I LOVE Gorillaz, so when I found out (a little bit late to the game) that they'd also created this circus opera under the guise of "Monkey" I was interested to hear the music. It's all sung in Chinese but strangely enough is VERY cool. They also did the promo spot on the BBC for the Beijing Olympics:
