A community portal about Gothic Lolita Fashion with blogs, videos, and photos. According to Wikipedia.org: Gothic Lolita or " GothLoli " is a subcategory of the Lolita fashion, a street fashion among Japanese female teenagers and, to a lesser extent, men and young women.
Lolita is a first used as a Vladimir Nabokov’s famous sexy novel, but later used as a fashion style especially in Japan fashion . Lolita style used to be a sexual cosplay fashion , altough now most followers of the style do not consider it overtly sexual. It’s not a movement about a sexual style. Lolita can not be seperated with Gothic. Gothic Lolita (known in Japan as gosurori... Read Full Story
Former No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani got a lot of flack from fashion websites for her L.A.M.B. tour costumes, which were definitely inspired by Harajuku style. Go Fug Yourself wrote about Gwen's giant diaper, while other sites took issue with the tin soldier jacket featured in the "Hollaback Girl" video . There was also this tasty little number, which is like an infant-sized Gothic Lolita dress: I would argue that the dress Gwen wears in the "What You Waiting For?" is not Gothic Lolita... There are many genres of dark and Gothic styling. Most of the divas out there can accept and crossover their fashionable wardrobes. However, the Courtesan has learned that if there was any group out there in the Gothic universe that is very particular about the proper style etiquette, it would be the Lolitas. For the uninitiated, the term "Gothic Lolita" should not be used lightly to refer to any cute, lacy or vaguely Victorian costume fan. There are apparently many rules pertaining to... Read Full Story

I've been looking for some "online dolls" that I could make to match my Twighlight Manor characters. Someone back at NaNoWriMo was doing that for their charaters, and it seemed to me a good idea. Of course I've never done this before. I've got Sculpy Dolls, and fabric dolls, and paper dolls, that I have made, but I've never even considered "online dolls" before. I just found Dress Up Games , a place that I think does what I am looking for. I haven't tried it out yet, so I not entirly sure... Read Full Story

Does Gothic Fashion always need to be dark and somber? Designer Michael Lau proved it did not at Hong Kong's Spring 2010/Summer 2010 fashion week. The designer took two of next season's most important trend directions, (pale, neutral colors and surface texture embellishment) to a new, innovative level. Michael Lau's background is quite diverse, his resume includes toy design, painter and artist in addition to his skills in fashion. The collection came across as The-Mummy-Meets-Phantom (or... I found this pretty video album of Lolita Goth fashion pictures and thought to share. the trend is pretty popular in Japan and you can see some pieces on western fashion runways as well. Puffy sleeves and bows are pretty much regulars in the last few seasons. Gothic Lolita style is usually a black and white, often uses lace, ribbons and lace trims. Mostly these are very pretty girly clothes that if mixed right can work for both day and night. enjoy!... [Original Post on MyItThings.com] Read Full Story
