Arnold Schwarzenegger said today that an Internal Revenue Service lien against the governor for $79,064 in unpaid taxes was "a minor paperwork tracking discrepancy that is now being resolved." Aaron McLear, Schwarzenegger's press secretary, said in an e-mail that the governor was not aware until today that the IRS had filed a lien in Los Angeles County last May for taxes from 2004 and 2005.
