The Governor General of Canada waded into politics when she commented on the creation of an Afrocentric school in Toronto. The Governor General of Canada, Michaelle Jean, recently commented on the Toronto District School Board's decision to have an Afrocentric (or black-focused) school. Actor and comedian Eugene Levy and five other distinguished Canadians have been awarded Governor General's Performing Arts Awards for Lifetime Artistic Achievement. The announcement was made yesterday morning at a press conference in Montreal by Governor General Michaelle Jean.
