Google Phone, A new inititative from Google is taking place.Its said that Taiwanese company is prepping a GPhone, a WiFi phone based on Google Talk. Google sources say that branded hardware is part of the Google Talk plans, and a way to grow its ecosystem. These kind of devices would help GTalk get market traction. Or as Andy says, “squarely taking AIM at Skype.”

Santa Barbara-based D2 Technologies, a developer of embedded IP communications and VoIP software, said today that it is linking into an effort to push Google Android as a platform for embedded IP and voice-over-IP.
