The first was created by writer Bill Finger and artist Martin Nodell in All-American Comics #16. The best-known is Hal Jordan, created by John Broome and Gil Kane in Showcase #22.
Director Martin Campbell has previously revealed that Green Lantern will have only one villain, Dr. Hector Hammond, and that he is going to have a father. Peter Sarsgaard has been cast in the villain role, and THR reports that Tim Robbins has joined the cast as Senator Hammond, Sarsgaard's disapproving father.
Green Lantern begins production next month in New Orleans. Ryan Reynolds will play the lead role, while Blake Lively will play love...

The Olympic break is fast approaching. For many NHL teams it will be a time for some well deserved rest. For others, it will be two weeks of fear and anguish as they hope and pray their stars don't get hurt competing for their home countries in Vancouver.
