Gretchen Carlson underestimates Cash for Clunkers

Getchen Carlson is an on-air personality for Fox News.  She hosts "Fox and Friends".
Gretchen Carlson is a former winner of the Miss America pageant.  She's now a host for the Fox News Network and reports on a broad range of current events and political issues.

Getchen Carlson made a significant mistake while reporting on the "Cash for Clunkers" program.  She said, "I did my own crack research yesterday, spent a tremendous amount of time on this yesterday finding out information. In my home state of Minnesota, so far only two of these deals have actually been approved."  In actual fact, 2 percent of deals (150 cars) have been approved.

Carlson's family is involved in the automotive business.  In June she told her audience that her parents' car dealership would be closing as part of the General Motors bankruptcy.
