It was Guy Fawkes Night on 5th November. It is an annual event that celebrates the downfall of the Gunpowder Plot of 5 November 1605. Way back in 1605 a group of Catholic conspirators tried to burn down the Houses of Parliament in London. The plot was unsuccessful. The most famous of these conspirators was Guy Fawkes.
