Gwen Admits the Other Dudes Were a Little Jealous

The beautiful and stylish Gwen Stefani is on the cover of July's Elle magazine (wearing Louis Vuitton, no less), with a candid discussion about merging mommyhood and rock stardom.

Gwen is currently on tour with No Doubt, the band she's fronted since her teens. Despite amped performances on Today and American Idol, there have been rumors about discord within the band.

Gwen admits there is something to that rumor, saying "Everybody's making it like there's all this new tension, you know, like I stepped away from the band and now they're jealous of me, and look, maybe there is a little bit of that." She confessed that she and No Doubt bassist Tony Kanal had words over the band's cover of Adam Ant's "Stand and Deliver."

"But some fights aren't really what they seem. I think it was a little about the song, and a little about our coming back together. There was this little air bubble that needed to pop, you know?"

But it seems that motherhood (and fatherhood, in the cases of Tom Dumont and Adrian Young) is having more of an effect on the band's groove than anything else. It's not easy to travel with 3-year-old Kingston, apparently: "It's one thing when you have an infant, but when you have this 2 or 3-year-old going, 'Mommy, what's the deal?' it's harder. Kingston's whole thing is, 'I need, I need.' He is insane right now. We're just hoping for the best and that he's not going to turn out to be a freak, but we'll see."
