GOOP.com lovers and haters, take note: Gwyneth Paltrow has launched a Spanish version of her controversial lifestyle Web site. So now she can teach the Spanish-speaking world how to make a sandwich, as well. The actress recently gave an interview (in fluent Spanish, of course) in which she discussed her love of all things Spain, from the food and culture to the country's rich history.

She told the Associated Press:
When I was 15, I went to a small town outside Talavera de la Reina and I had the most wonderful experience. It really changed my life.

It is so different from the United States. It seemed to have a history, and the buildings are years and years and years old. Here in the United States an old building is about 17 (years old), and over there it's from 500 B.C., it's incredible.

Also, the way people live over there. They seem to enjoy life a little bit more. They aren't running around as much as in New York. They enjoy time with the family. They don't always have their Blackberries on.
Paltrow also said she takes every opportunity to travel to the country -- her participation in the Mario Batali series Spain...On the Road Again didn't hurt -- and also talks to children Apple and Moses in Spanish. Even acting in Spanish isn't out of the question for this native Californian, who incidentally lives in London.

But Gwyneth's criticism of American culture in the quote above has struck a sour note with some readers, as it did when she once said, "I love the English way, which is not as capitalistic as it is in America. People don't talk about work and money. They talk about interesting things at dinner parties."

Let the backlash in the United States begin...again.
