Organisers of the inaugural Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition (Cathay Pacific Hong Kong IWSC) have announced an overwhelming response from the international wine community, with the number of entries received positioning it as the largest wine competition in Asia. This happened 2 days ago, but it is such a hilarious thing that it is worthy of mentioning. For those who aren’t in Hong Kong, it is in illegal under the Societies Ordinance to say “I am a triad member” (and other variations) in Hong Kong. This is partly due to the historic influence that the triads have had in Hong Kong (such as drugs, prostitution, corruption etc.).
