Hank Williams (1923-1953) was an American singer-songwriter and musician. Williams recorded 35 singles that would place in the Top 10 of the Billboard Country & Western Best Sellers chart, including 11 that ranked number one. He is generally regarded as one of the most important figures in country music history. Williams passed away at the age of 29, reportedly after injecting himself with morphine.
