Heathcliff Andrew Ledger is an Academy Award -nominated Australian actor. In 1999, Ledger starred in the Hollywood teen comedy 10 Things I Hate about You and also had the lead role in the acclaimed Australian movie Two Hands, directed by Gregor Jordan.
He went on to star in The Patriot as Mel Gibson's character's son, Monster's Ball as Billy Bob Thornton's character's son, A Knight's Tale, Ned Kelly as the title character, The Order, and The Brothers Grimm co-starring Matt Damon.
Heath Ledger's Hometown Names Movie Theater In His Honor
The Australian hometown of the late actor Heath Ledger named a theater in his honor Tuesday for his commitment to acting.The $87 million, 575-seat "Heath Ledger Theater" in Perth is a fitting tribute because Ledger was always supportive of other young actors, Western Australia state Premier Alan Carpenter said at a naming ceremony.
Ledger died at 28 of an accidental prescription drug overdose in New York in January.

"Heath Ledger was totally dedicated to the craft of being an actor and that's what made him successful," Carpenter said. "I think what we're doing is continuing that support for young people who want to make a career in the arts and acting, stage and in film, whatever it happens to be."
Ledger received a best-actor Academy Award nomination for his role in 2005's "Brokeback Mountain" with Jake Gyllenhaal.

Ledger will be seen in one last film after "The dark Knight' - it was the film he was working on when he died.
"The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" starring Johnny Depp. Several big name actors stepped forward after Ledgers death to help complete the film.
