Heroes Shades of Recalibration

By PaulLev on  From paullevinson.blogspot.com
Heroes continues to recalibrate nicely with Episode 3.19, moving from a tableau of strange wonder to almost a version of 24 , with heroes in shades of black, white, and gray ("Shades of Gray" is the title of this episode) rather than Jack Bauer. The grayist of the heroes - in terms of moral ambiguity - is Nathan. Last night he saved Matt, worked to overthrow Danko, and even flew Claire to safety by the end of the episode. He's well on his way to fully leaving the dark side of power. Danko is...Read Full Story

You Gotta Like Sylar on Heroes Now

By PaulLev on  From paullevinson.blogspot.com
He's the least conflicted, most effective hero by far ... Sylar has escaped for the government's goons at least twice now. And, despite what he says, he's taking good care of the kid he picked up last week. I know Sylar's capable of doing something awful any time, but so far in 2009 I'm finding his character commendable. HRG, on the other hand, is the epitome of conflicted. I was glad to see Matt and company at least turn the tables on him. I have a feeling we may be in for a surprise - let's...Read Full Story

Heroes: All that Shape-Changes Remains the Same?

By PaulLev on  From paullevinson.blogspot.com
Episode 3.21 of Heroes last night ... featuring all four Petrillis in two threads, and Danko and Sylar in another. All three were compelling, but the Danko and Sylar was the most surprising, and carried the important lesson that true evil cannot easily outgrow itself - that is, if Sylar isn't carrying out some sort of complex deception... As it is, we see Sylar and Danko first clashing, but then joining forces to bring down a shape shifter. Sylar outwits the shape shifter, and ends up (of...Read Full Story

Heroes Season 3 Finale: Hopeful Deceptions

By PaulLev on  From paullevinson.blogspot.com
Heroes wrapped up Season 3 with a compelling, powerful episode, which tied up some loose ends and opened up some excellent possibilities, all about good but nonetheless dangerous deceptions. To cut to the chase: Sylar kills Nathan, Peter (shape shifting as the President) knocks out Sylar (shape shifting as Nathan), Angela convinces Matt to implant in Sylar's mind that he really is Nathan. HRG sees and approves this. So Season 3 ends with some hope, but on shifting sands. HRG and Angela will...Read Full Story

Heroes Baby, Rebel, and Last Fantasy

By PaulLev on  From paullevinson.blogspot.com
An unusually sensitive and personal Heroes 3.20 last night, which featured Matt Parkman's baby and his superpower, the identity of Rebel, and the fate of Matt and Daphne. Matt's baby is great - he has "touch and go" power, as Hiro puts it, and he can use it to turn on television or Hiro's lost power over time. The scenes with Hiro, Ando, and Matt's baby were one of the best in the series, crackling with great one-liners from Hiro, along the lines of "heroes are supposed to change the world...Read Full Story

Heroes Season 3 Episode 16: Building 26

By Kfleming on  From satellitetvguru.net
Last night’s episode of “Heroes” gave us a closer look at what’s in store for the rest of the season. As the show opens, Noah and Claire are arguing when she gets a text from Rebel telling her she needs to protect Alex at Sam’s Comics. She follows this advice and shows Alex her ability, telling him that he can breathe under water. The two escape from HRG and when Claire gets home she explains to her mother that HRG is still up to no good and her mother asks him to leave. He then goes to a...Read Full Story

Heroes - I Am Sylar

By stella117 on  From wellaboveaverage.com
If it weren't enough that Sylar has regenerative powers and can shapeshift, he is now officially indestructible. Danko put a knife in the back of his head, but Sylar just pulled it back out saying, " That hurt ." Sylar spent most of the episode titled "I Am Sylar" with a massive identity crisis. Turns out shapeshifting isn't all it's cracked up to be. Even stealing Clint Howard 's ability ( which is getting acting roles with little or no acting talent thanks to A-list brother Ronnie...Read Full Story
