An annual 100 mile century ride near Mono Lake, CA. The ride includes the Sagehen Summit, Watterson Canyon Summit and parts of the Owens River Valley. The High Sierra Fall Century begins at the Whitmore Ball Fields, just east of U.S. Hwy. 395 on the Benton Crossing Road south of Mammoth Lakes. The ride is scheduled for early September (in 2006, it is scheduled for Sept 9th).
I rode the High Sierra Fall Century last weekend with a bunch of
friends. We had a great time. The ride was well supported and

The Drive -
Took us about 6 hours from the Bay Area. There wan't much traffic
(probably becuase folks are staying home on the weekend after the
holiday). We had a full moon which made for some cool scenery as
