According to Wikipedia.org: Hips Don't Lie is a Grammy Award -nominated Latin pop song performed by Colombian singer Shakira and Haitian rapper Wyclef Jean. The song is a cover of Wyclef's 2004's song "Dance Like This". Shakira assisted in the writing and producing process of the 2006 remake. The song was released as the second single from Shakira's second English album Oral Fixation Vol. 2 in 2006. "Hips Don't Lie" became a global success, topping the charts in many countries. It became Shakira and Wyclef's first number-one single in the U.S.. In the UK, this was Wyclef's third number-one hit and Shakira's first. In many other European countries, it became Shakira's second number one,. It also became Shakira and Wyclef's most successful single ever, selling 9.7 million copies worldwide .

LOS ANGELES (Billboard) - In Shakira's hometown of Barranquilla, Colombia, there's a 15-foot metal statue of her, wearing bell bottoms and strumming a guitar. It was donated by a German sculptor in 2006, in the midst of the singer's wildly successful Oral Fixation world tour, which featured her jaw-dropping belly-dancing and a finale of "Hips Don't Lie" with Wyclef Jean.
